Highlighting its relocation to the South Terminal of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), Nov. 15, 2018, Frontier Airlines announced two additional nonstop destinations from Austin.
New Nonstop Service
Beginning on April 30, 2019, the airline will begin offer seasonal nonstop service to Chicago, followed by service to San Francisco beginning on May 10, 2019. These flights, along with the rest of Frontier’s flights from Austin-Bergstrom will operate from the South Terminal, a separate facility accessed off Burleson Road, east of US 183.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming customers to a new, easier, more relaxed experience,” said Daniel Shurz, Senior Vice President, Commercial for Frontier Airlines. “2018 has been a big year for Frontier in Austin, we’ve significantly expanded our route network, and we’ve got a great range of destinations from Austin.
The New South Terminal
With more than 1,000 parking spaces available, the South Terminal has both an indoor concession area and an outdoor patio featuring gourmet tacos from the De Nada Tacos food truck. Shuttle service is available to transport passengers to the Barbara Jordan Terminal and operates approximately every 20 minutes. Travelers should be aware that off-airport parking does not serve the South Terminal.

Frontier serves 21 nonstop destinations from Austin. Tickets and Frontier low fare sales, including new sales to celebrate the relocation, are available at FlyFrontier.com. Frontier has carried 744,890 passengers through Austin’s airport year-to-date January – August 2018, about seven percent of Austin airport travelers, making Frontier the fifth busiest airline in Austin.
Parking at the South Terminal is available for $10 per day in Long Term, and Short Term located directly in front of the terminal is $16 per day. Parking at the South Terminal is automated and payable by credit card only.
Sun Country Starts New Nonstop Flight to Gulfport/Biloxi
The new seasonal nonstop service give travelers the option to check out the second-largest city in Mississippi and third-largest casino and gaming destination in the U.S.
Vacationers looking to cool down near the Gulf Coast this summer now have the option of taking a nonstop flight from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport (GPT) as Sun Country Airlines started their seasonal nonstop service on July 19.
The new nonstop from AUS to GPT operates twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays from late July until Dec. 16, 2019. Tickets and packages are available at SunCountry.com.
On Mondays and Fridays, flights depart Austin at 10:10 AM and arrive in Gulfport / Biloxi at 11:40 AM. Flights depart Gulfport / Biloxi at 5:35 PM and arrive in Austin at 7:15 PM.
This new destination offers passengers a nonstop flight to the second-largest city in Mississippi and third-largest casino and gaming destination in the United States. Along with its coast casinos, Gulfport and Biloxi offers 26 miles of white sand beaches, over 20 golf courses and other outdoor options including sport fishing with over 200 species.

Low-fare carrier, Frontier Airlines has started nonstop service from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to San Francisco International Airport. The new seasonal service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

All Frontier flights operate from the South Terminal which has a separate entrance and parking on the south side of the airport and is not accessible from inside the Barbara Jordan Terminal or from SH 71. The South Terminal is located at 10000 Logistics Lane and is accessible from US 183 South and Burleson Road.
Lufthansa Launches Nonstop Service to Frankfurt, Germany

Lufthansa, the world’s largest airline network celebrated the start of new international nonstop service between the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and busiest airport in Germany, the Frankfurt Airport (FRA) Rhein-Main-Flughafen, on Friday, May 3, 2019.
The gate celebration included a ribbon-cutting program, cake, musical performances by Tessy Lou and the Shotgun Stars and Sophia Johnson, and remarks from the airline to announce the start of the five days per week service.
Austin marks the third Texas gateway city to have nonstop service by Lufthansa. Currently, the AUS to FRA route is the only new North American nonstop addition announced by the German carrier this year. A Star Alliance network codeshare partner, Lufthansa’s first arriving flight LH468 from FRA to AUS, touched down in Austin around 2:05 PM. Flight LH469, departed Austin at 4 PM to Frankfurt.
“Lufthansa’s service is a doorway for Central Texans to reach Europe and for global travelers to experience Austin’s art, music, and culinary culture,” said Jim Smith, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Executive Director. “Frankfurt, Germany is a desired international economic and tourist destination. We welcome the air service between the two tech hubs and the successful interchange of international tourism, business, and economic development opportunities.”
Lufthansa operates the flight with a 225 passenger Airbus A330-300 in a three-class cabin configuration. The aircraft has 42 Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats, and 185 Economy Class seats. Flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Optimally timed, flight LH469 will depart Austin at 4 PM and arrive at 9:05 AM in Frankfurt the following day. For passengers flying to Austin, LH 468 is set to take off at 10 AM from the Frankfurt Airport, arriving in Austin at 2:05 PM. All times are local.
