AGBL Summer 2015 Week 1

The Austin Gay Basketball League kicked off it’s 10th season this week at the Austin Sports Center in South Austin. This season features 13 teams, divided among three divisions. The new Advanced Division, which includes four teams, was added this season to help create a smaller skills gaps between players within each division and ensure a more balanced and competitive playing environment. The Competitive Division, the league’s largest, features six teams; and the Recreational Division features three teams.

Week 1 marked the start of regular season play for the Recreational Division, with the Net Profits winning against the Lasers, 30-27. This was a bye week for the Dark Knights, the division’s third team. The Advanced and Competitive divisions both hosted scrimmage games this week among some of their teams.
