It’s been a while since we heard new music from indie singer-songwriter Mike Burns. His last album, Chapter Twenty-Seven, was released in 2012. Shortly afterwards, he moved back east. So we were excited to see he had dropped a video for his new single, “We Are America”, his response the the current political climate and the #BlackLivesMatter protests.

The email Mike sent out announcing the release:

I could write this email about how I feel regarding the state of emergency that we’re in. I could ramble on about how I don’t believe that we have a leader in the White House. But… really, I just have one question… When will they stop killing black people in our streets?

A couple of things…

If you don’t like this song, that’s cool.
If you do like this song, that’s cool.
And, if you do dig it, thank you! Please share it!
I am eternally grateful for all of you, even those of you that won’t like this. Thank you for listening.
