JHart: “Temporary”

Published

on

GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum selling singer, songwriter and producer JHart (AKA James Abrahart) returns today with a deeply personal, uplifting and inspired new single, “Temporary.”

Speaking about the song’s origin, JHart reveals, “I wrote ‘Temporary about the nature of pain, how you have to walk through it one day at a time, reminding yourself to keep pushing forward with the comfort that one day won’t feel like today does.” He continues,“I got to write the song with some of my friends and some of the most talented, well respected names in the business, Ilsey Juber, Ian Kirkpatrick, and Sizzy Rocket. German (of The Monsters and the Strangerz) handled production and did an amazing job. I’m so happy with how it turned out and even happier that I got to create something that I’m proud of with friends.”

“Temporary” serves as the follow up to previous singles, “Why Does It Hurt,” an emotionally-charged soul-pop ballad about coming to terms with the end of a relationship, and his sultry and cinematic debut single “Put It To Bed,” which Billboard hailed as “triumphant & danceable,” citing the song as “proof of JHart’s true power and a sign of great things to come.”

The new song is the latest taste of what’s to come from his forthcoming EP, Vol 1 – Songs From Therapy, coming soon and featuring collaborations with Greg Wells and LostBoy. The inspiration for Vol 1 – Songs From Therapy came after listening to audio recorded during his own personal therapy sessions. As he explains, “When I started going to therapy, I noticed a change in my ability to be present creatively, so after a few months I pitched my therapist the idea of recording our sessions with the goal of writing my record and he agreed to it. Therapy also helped me get over a fear of performing that stopped me from pursuing an artist project for most of my adult life.”

With the release of “Temporary,” and “Why Does It Hurt,” “Put It To Bed” before it, JHart’s introduction as a full-fledged solo artist is in full effect. Having started out as a songwriter writing hits for artists spanning multiple genres, including Justin Bieber, Keith Urban, Usher, Kygo, Rita Ora, Kevin Gates, and Camila Cabello, with his output as a songwriter amassing over 8 million in sales. JHart co-wrote two songs on Justin Bieber’s 2015 Purpose album, including the Billboard Hot 100 single “Company” and Keith Urban’s hit single, “Wasted Time,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart in 2016. He also penned two songs, “In The Dark,” and “Something’s Gotta Give” on Camila Cabello’s debut self-titled album which hit the top spot on the Billboard 200 Chart earlier this year. As an artist, JHart was prominently featured on Kygo’s “Permanent,” which hit the Top 50 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Songs Chart, before joining the Norwegian producer/DJ’s Kids In Love arena tour in early 2018 and performing at Coachella.

JHart can next be seen on stage when he performs at the Javits Center in NYC June 30 as part of World Pride, supporting KYGO who will be performing live with Cirque Du Soleil.

Dizzy Fae has unveiled her new single, “Company,” following her previously released single “Altar,” which Billboard praises as a “soul-infused, late-night dance escape.”

Of the new tape Fae says, “Some of the songs will make you dance, some will make you laugh, some will make you cry, but it’s 100% guaranteed that they will all make you feel something real. I grew up without healthy food in my home, so now that I’ve woken up to my need for holistic wellness, I have a renewed sense of being. I channeled that fresh and organic energy to create a sound that can really only be described as Dizzy Fae.”

Dizzy Fae is a 20-year-old classically trained singer and dancer. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota and based in Minneapolis, Fae prides herself as a queer black interdisciplinary artist interrogating the nuances and liberties of love and human connection. The release of her 2018 mixtape Free Form led Fae to share stages with Lizzo, Toro Y Moi, Jorja Smith and more, in addition to her own headline dates in America and Europe. Most recently, Fae performed at Troye Sivan’s inaugural Go West Fest at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. NO GMO was produced with Alec Ness, Psymun (The Weeknd, Young Thug), Kim Tee (Clairo), Sir Dylan (Solange, Miguel) and Falls (Wedidit).

Rising singer Dizzy Fae’s new mixtape, NO GMO, is due June 26. NO GMO follows Fae’s debut mixtape, Free Form, released last year to critical acclaim.

Madonna: “Dark Ballet”

Madonna release powerful video for “Dark Ballet,” the final song to be shared from MADAME X before its global release on June 14.

Madonna today released “Dark Ballet,” the fifth and final song to be previewed before her highly-anticipated new studio album Madame X debuts globally on June 14. Produced by Mirwais Ahmadzai, the accompanying music video to the sonically innovative track was directed by Emmanuel Adjei and stars Mykki Blanco.

“Dark Ballet” was inspired by the story of Joan of Arc. “She fought the English and she won, still the French were not happy,” Madonna says. “Still they judged her. They said she was a man, they said she was a lesbian, they said she was a witch, and, in the end, they burned her at the stake, and she feared nothing. I admire that.”

The powerful and moving video, directed by Emmanuel Adjei, stars the innovative hip-hop queer pioneer, Mykki Blanco as Joan of Arc and tells the story of the kind of dance we’re all dancing in the world right now, this dark ballet. The video closes with an important message of inspiration from Mykki, “I have walked this earth, Black, Queer and HIV positive, but no transgression against me has been as powerful as the hope I hold within.”

“Dark Ballet” follows the release of the critically-acclaimed “Medellín,” the empowering “I Rise,” the infectious pop gem “Crave,” and the electronic reggae-tinged “Future.” Influenced creatively by living in Lisbon, Portugal over the past several years, Madame X is a collection of 15 new songs that celebrate Madonna’s career-long affair with Latin music and culture as well as other global influences. Singing in Portuguese, Spanish and English, Madonna collaborated on Madame X with longtime producer Mirwais, as well as with producers Mike Dean and Diplo, among others.

Billboard says “Future” has a, “dreamy reggae vibe.” Rolling Stone says, “’Crave’ is a sultry pop number about hungering for another person,” and MTV declares about “Crave” that, “It’s nearly impossible to listen to this without a smile sneaking to the corners of your face.” Of “I Rise,” NME says the song, “is politics and positivity combined.” NPR says, “Medellín is a carefully dosed combination of…coolly narcotic dance-pop…and energetic reggaetón,” while Entertainment Weekly declares the song is, “A breezy, summer-ready anthem…” The Guardian says, “Medellín is a potent reminder of Madonna’s deft history of meshing genres.”

Madonna will embark on her highly-anticipated Madame X Tour, a series of rare and intimate performances taking place exclusively in theaters in select cities, starting September 12 in New York.
