Austinites will have the opportunity support AIDS Services of Austin while dining out across the Austin metro area as ASA presents its 27th annual Dining Out For Life® hosted by Subaru® on Thursday, May 23, 2019. This year, more than 70 area restaurants will be donating a portion of their day’s proceeds which will help support the integrated, holistic life-affirming programs and services that ASA provides.
“We are excited to host Dining Out For Life for the 27th year in Austin along with Subaru of America,” said ASA’s Chief Executive Officer Paul E. Scott. “This year the slogan is ‘Dine Out. End HIV.’, which indicates the tremendous progress we have seen in Austin and the Country. We now have all the tools needed to end HIV in our community, but we need continued help and support to pay for those tools.”
Held in Austin since 1992, Dining Out For Life® features 3,000 participating restaurants in more then 60 cities across North America. In 2017, Dining Out For Life® raised over $4 million in the U.S. and Canada to help fund HIV/AIDS care, prevention, education, testing, counseling and other essential services locally. In 2018, the Austin event raised $52,000 which was used to support local programs and services.
Aside from simply dining out, individuals can also volunteer as either a table captain to help fill tables at your favorite restaurants or as an ambassador to help educate diners on the integrated, holistic life-affirming programs and services that AIDS Services of Austin offers. To volunteer, email ASA’s Volunteer Manager Joseph Breck at email@example.com. There is an Ambassador Training session on
Monday, May 20, 2019 from 6-7:30 PM Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 6-7:30 PM at ASA’s Main Campus at 7215 Cameron Rd., Austin, TX 78752.
