Dining Out For Life Celebrates 25 Years

Dining Out For Life celebrates 25 years in Austin on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 with more than 70 restaurants taking part in a day-long fundraiser for AIDS Services of Austin, supporting its mission of enhancing the health and well-being of people affected by HIV and AIDS. Participating restaurants donate a portion of proceeds from sales for the day to ASA. In 2016, the event raised more then $40,000 which went directly to support local programs and services.

“We are thrilled to celebrate 25 years of giving back to the HIV and AIDS community with the return of Dining Out For Life,” said ASA Executive Director Paul Scott. “We are so grateful to our new and returning restaurant partners and encourage all to dine out in support of this great cause.”

AIDS Services of Austin started its ‘Dine Out for Life’ event, similar to the ‘Dining Out For Life’ model, 25 years ago, growing into a city-wide event. In 2014, ASA joined the Dining Out For Life International Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, opening the door for the agency to access more resources to grow the event and its impact on the Austin community. Funds raised here help ASA fund essential services, including prevention, eduction, testing and counseling.

Diners are encouraged to share their experience online and show their support for ASA and Dining Out For Life by using the hashtag #DineOutATX. For more information about Dining Out For Life, visit
